Nibelungenschanke in Frankfurt

The lamb salmon is my favorite dish. I can recommend this to everyone!

Zero point zero stars for quality, service and the pursuit of customer satisfaction. Ordered a goose 5 days in advance. "We, the Nibelungen Schänke and Oinotheke, are known for our roast goose!" Unfortunately, I was misled by this sentence on the homepage. I was sold on the phone that the goose would be freshly prepared before the agreed pickup. When I arrived at home, the foil was removed, I was disappointed to see a cold, pale, decayed and sick-looking goose (see picture, left homepage, right reality, and EUR 110 for that! Question to everyone who also ordered a goose, saw this look the same?). After more than 1 hour in the oven, it was reasonably warm, but tasteless, dry and inedible, far from "freshly prepared". I was offered a replacement, but I was unable to go back. (I doubt the replacement would have been better.) To end, I was offered EUR 20-30 as compensation. Saying that I am the only one who ever complained is not an excuse. Genuine interest in wanting to make it up to you, far from it. An impudence! I expect at least the same courtesy when complaining as when ordering! I would only get half the price back if I also bring back the remains of the goose! I did that. Words are missing, just ridiculous! Apparently they wanted proof ?! And by the way, in my opinion the side dishes were also finished goods and not homemade. My tip: Better to prepare the goose yourself at home, then you will know what you are eating!

The food was nice, it would be good to also have an english menu.

The garden is beautiful, the food is very good. Unfortunately, I have the feeling that with a small card, small portion sizes and high prices, you want to play in a league for which you don't have what it takes. (I don't want a giant schnitzel for 8.50 euros - but the concept has to fit!) The waiting time for the main course was almost an hour and a half. Four slices of bread for five people - then leave it alone! Too many different waiters at the table, sometimes A didn't know what B was doing. The friendliness was lost in the hectic pace. No desire for separate bills "you already do it". Guests ran around in the really narrow toilet area without a mask. The staff had the mask hanging on their chin while serving food. 2 stars for the taste, the garden and friendliness here and there. Too bad - turning fewer adjusting screws could be wonderful!

The kitchen is not recommended and the menu is boring. Service and ambience great.

Anyone looking for a greek greek is wrong. There is fine Greek cuisine here, which evokes memories of the last vacation. Obviously the cook was a little in love on our last visit, otherwise there was nothing to complain about

The restaurant has quite a good reputation but I was honestly disappointed. The cuisine seems to be a mix of greek and Italian food, but very limited and not the 'classics' of the greek cuisine for example. The restaurant wanted to look a little fancier with the white tablecloths but the chairs were probably back from the 90ies. Prices were above average. Portions were pretty small and unfortunately not any special or delicious. The pasta with seafood had no actual taste, the potatoes were so deep fried that they rather felt like chips and there was no taste of potato anymore. What bothered us the most was the extremely unfriendly und inattentive service. Unfriendly, slowly and just not good. It was quite an unjust evening and we waiting about 45 minutes for our food. They didnt ask if everything was okay, didnt bring clean plates as wind had blown in leaves on our tables and didnt even say goodbye after we paid. They do have a nice backyard to dine which is pretty beautiful in the summer. However, I will not return there and cannot recommend it.

Not quite as typically Greek as expected. Anyone looking for the usual Greek plate with different types of meat is clearly wrong. This is fine cuisine and fine restoration. Of course there are Greek dishes, but more finely structured - and for three times the price. This must be clear to the visitor.

Service friendly and fast. But justified criticism was not discussed. Price performance was not good that evening.

Wine on the menu was out of stock, and the 2-bottle “replacement wine” was another wine like the first one. Dine not really hot. An appetizer was completely forgotten. Taste average. Overall price level too high for what is offered.

I spent a very pleasant evening here. The service was great, the house (red) wine very drinkable. The lamb shoulder awarded.

The best eatery in a long time. Extremely fresh ingredients. Super clean. Fireworks in taste. The dishes are not over-seasoned. Neither incompetently nor wanted to increase beverage sales. The service is, except for a not tall lady with dark hair, extremely friendly and very competent in the service of the guests. Overall a complete success. Our guests were much more than satisfied and started to compare the quality of the food and the service of the Nibelung taverns at the table with experiences in places visited worldwide. If that's not a recognition? P. S. The dessert is overwhelming in taste. Many thanks to the team !!!

The Nibelungenschänke has been around for a long time, but always very good. Beautiful summer garden backyard.

Good food, terrace is nice

Nice Greek restaurant with garden behind the house. Extensive menu, delicious food and a wide selection of wines. The service was friendly and attentive. The subway station of the U5 line is nearby. You can also pay by card in the restaurant.

The terrace is so beautiful, it looks like a typical mediterrenean terrace. The food is ok, very recommendable the fish. Top place to go with good weather.

Super Greek. Starters and main course were consistently solid. Good wine selection. Relaxed atmosphere in the summer garden.
